Arla foods is a large Danish cooperative and and the largest producer of dairy products in Scandinavia.
Arla was formed as the result of a merger between the Swedish dairy cooperative Arla and the Danish dairy company MD Foods on 17 April 2000. Arla Foods is owned by approximately 10,600 milk producers in Denmark and Sweden.
Denmark, Sweden, and the UK are considered home markets because the Group has production in all three countries. Turnover in these three markets accounts for approximately 73% of Arla Foods’ turnover. Arla owns 51% of the stock exchange-listed UK company Arla Foods UK.
In March 2006, Arla took out full-page advertising in Saudi Arabia, apologizing for the cartoons and indicating Arla’s great respect for Islam in the country. This raised controversy back in Denmark, where women’s organizations and some Danish politicians criticized Arla, and called on Danish women to boycott Arla’s products in Denmark.
In response to the publishing of the Mohammed cartoons Arla’s executive director urged the Danish government to take action.
“I urgently beg the government to enter a positive dialogue with the many millions of Muslims who feel they have been offended by Denmark,” Peder Tuborgh said in a statement.
“Freedom of expression is an internal Danish issue but this has a totally different dimension,” Tuborgh said. “This is about Denmark having offended millions of Muslims.”
Arla took out a full page advertisement in a Saudi Arabian newspaper apologising for the cartoons.
Our politicians, media and businesses are forcing us to comply with islamist sensitivities. This is has no end while non-muslims exist. Muslims are congenitally offended by the presence of non-muslims.
Already nearly all of the poultry in Denmark is slaughtered halal style. People are consuming halal poultry whether they like it not and whether they are muslim or not.
Hit these companies where it hurts – in their profits.
Combat companies like Arla who seemingly succumb to islamist bullying of us by boycotting the same companies. Change your diet organic dairy produce and poultry and do your bit to save the planet – and Western civilisation at the same time.
